Teacher in Training

Hello, my name is Brianna Adair, welcome to my blog!

I am on the path to becoming an Elementary School Teacher at Cal State University of San Marcos.

I graduated Ramona High School in 2009 in my small, country hometown of Ramona, California. I have attended Palomar Junior College for the last 3 years, and I am currently enrolled at Cal State University of San Marcos full time as a "junior".

I recently began the Integrated Credential Program and I am taking three education courses this fall semester. My classes this semester include: GES 102, LING 100, EDUC 350B, EDUC 422, and EDUC 364B.

I plan to become an Elementary School Teacher and would enjoy teaching any classes from grades kindergarten through sixth grade. I have a passion for children, helping others learn, and watching students learn and grow as individuals. My journey of becoming a teacher began when I realized years ago this is what I wanted to do with my life. We only live once and can choose whatever career our hearts desire; mine is teaching. Not just teaching, but teaching young children because I feel I can compare their minds at these ages to 'sponges'. Elementary School level students have the need to learn, the want for knowledge, and the ability to absorb and 'soak up' material like a sponge.

I currently use technology; I have an iPhone, iPad, iPod, Dell desktop computer, televisions in our home, as well as the use of technology at school. I enjoy using these devices to connect to the rest of the world, communicate with others, complete school-related assignments, read, text, call, take pictures, and the list goes on... I believe we rely on technology for many things and we are advancing rapidly everyday. I see technology now more than ever. I believe it is a key to learning currently as well as a necessity for our future generations. We are becoming a technological society more and more each year. I hope to become more knowledgable with the MAC systems as well as further myself in the teaching program here at CSUSM. I am very excited to have begun my education classes, and I am even more ecstatic to start my observations in public schools.
I feel that I have always had a love for children and wanted to work with them starting at a young age myself. I enjoy babysitting/nannying and watching my younger brother grow up. I have mentored students and shadowed my past teachers at my prior Elementary School and thought it was a great experience. I was able to view the classrooms of my childhood in a completely different light.

I have been involved in dancing and cheerleading for many years, was a cheerleader throughout high school, and I had the honor of coaching my cheer team after I graduated for the past three years. I believe that I have a strong sense of enthusiasm and teamwork as a result of my cheerleading experience. I hope to apply many of my techniques and exercises to my teaching in the future.

Thank you,
I hope you enjoyed my blog and getting to know me.
